Coffee Stop: Strangers With Coffee

On a sunny Saturday with no plans, there seemed like no better time than to have a long lay in before venturing out to another coffee shop from the Independent Coffee Guide.

This time I found myself visiting a charming little cafe tucked away in the city of Wells. Wells is a place where I have been more times than I can count, yet I had never come across Strangers With Coffee before.

Strangers With Coffee

This coffee shop opens up on to a narrow pavement, so could be hard to spot if it wasnt for the signage outside inviting customers in for coffee and food. I was practically hunting for it, so I was quick to spot it!

From first glance, it looks small from the outside, but it actually expands back quite far, with a beautiful outside seating area at the back.

I was greeted by Tom, and after ordering an Americano and a slice of coffee and walnut cake (I can never resist), was told that he would bring it over to me.

Coffee With Strangers has a relaxed atmosphere, but the service and the quality of both the coffee and the food is impeccable. Whilst I opted for a traditional coffee and walnut cake, there were plenty of other home made treats on offer, including lemon and poppy seed muffins and a maple syrup and pecan cake.

The slice I was given was divine, with an incredible butter cream in the middle. It was also a rather large slice, so whilst I was extremely interested in ordering a sandwich made with local bread or some pancakes from their food menu, I had to refrain so I didn’t pop!

As well as their house blend, they also have a guest roast that changes every week or so – which I think is a great touch for avid coffee lovers who want to try different coffee on a regular basis.

It was lovely to have a quiet afternoon to myself sipping coffee, being a little bit nosey and getting some work done!

Strangers With Coffee is definitely my favourite of my coffee stops so far, I can’t wait to go back and enjoy some breakfast next time.

Do you have a favourite place to sit and watch the world go by? Let me know below…

*posted that prematurely (oops! Lol) BUT I do love to go sit and have breakfast at little shops and watch people wake up to the world. Itโ€™s quite a peaceful start to the day. Especially Iโ€™ve brought my computer along. It helps to jumpstart my creativity ๐Ÿ™‚
