A few Sundays ago, I decided to get out my copy of the South West and South Wales Independent Coffee Guide and find a new place to enjoy some coffee!

The River House

The River House is an adorable little coffee shop in Frome in Somerset, quite near to where I live, that prides itself on serving great coffee and tasty treats.

On a lazy Sunday, this seemed like the perfect way to spend my time – sipping coffee (as we always seem to do…) and having some chill time in the warm on a cloudy autumn day.

On entrance, the place was already rammed and I was lucky to get a little table for two near the door and right next to the main counter full of home-baked treats.

The walls were adorned with picture frames holding various quotes and quirky images which I absolutely loved – particularly the fox one and the “but first, coffee” one.

The River House had a fantastic selection of coffees, teas, and various other drinks. I was especially loving the fact that you could choose between white, dark, or milk chocolate for a mocha or hot chocolate. YUM.

Alongside their drinks menu, they have a range of delicious sounding food! I didn’t order food whilst there, but plenty of people did and it all looked and smelled absolutely incredible – so we have made a note to go back there to give the food a go too. They offer a range of breakfast and brunch dishes, with plenty of veggie and vegan options too.

This place is a little gem, just down from all of the main shops but with great service, a great atmosphere and delicious coffee. I can’t wait to go back!
